One week until the launch of Sahlgrenska Global Health Hackathon at Park Annual
In just one week, the Sahlgrenska Global Health Hackathon will launch at the Park Annual event in Gothenburg, kicking off global collaborative action (co-action) aimed at addressing global health challenges.
Inspired by the success of the femtech innovation hackathon, HackHERHealth, the Sahlgrenska Global Health Hackathon (SGHH) will bring together people from all walks of life—students, professionals, innovators, and anyone passionate about contributing to improve global health—from three continents, six countries, and nine locations to innovate cutting-edge solutions for some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.
With the theme "Co-action Addressing Global Health Challenges," the hackathon focuses on five critical global health challenges:
Health equality and access to care (including gender and ethnicity health gaps)
Cancer control
Healthy aging and chronic disease management
Infection prevention and control
Smart, safe, and sustainable healthcare
Encouraging approaches that leverage personalized medicine and data-driven insights, the hackathon aims to catalyse innovative solutions from participants in Sweden, Spain, UK, USA, Germany & Singapore. The nine hackathon locations have been selected as they are global hotspots in healthcare innovation and driving transformative, global impact.
The Sahlgrenska Global Health Hackathon will officially launch at Park Annual on October 24, 2024, followed by a year of global events, culminating in a grand finale in Gothenburg during the NLS Days conference in October 2025.
