Connecting the dots in the West Swedish life science ecosystem
Situated near Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg University and Chalmers University of Technology, Sahlgrenska Science Park is now also connected to GoCo Health Innovation City and the growing business community in and around the AstraZeneca campus in Mölndal.
“With an office at GoCo, we are now connecting two strong life science environments, each with its own distinct character. With more meeting places, the entire ecosystem in West Sweden can continue to grow and attract more talent and investment,” says Charlotta Gummeson, CEO, Sahlgrenska Science Park.
Sahlgrenska Science Park’s mission is to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the entire life science ecosystem in West Sweden. We do this by connecting people and organisations, coordinating collaborative projects, and driving business development for startup and scaleup companies who are developing technology to address health challenges.
Sahlgrenska Science Park’s mandate comes from a strong and broad owner base in the form of the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, Region Västra Götaland, Business Region Gothenburg and the City of Mölndal.
The fact that we are now also present at GoCo is a natural step in line with our strategy of "connecting the dots."
“By establishing an office at GoCo, we give our Nordic startups and scaleups the opportunity to create new collaborations with global health companies as well as the chance to secure future capital and attract talent in new technologies that are relevant to healthtech and medtech companies," says Annica Grimberg Lignell, Director & Head of The Accelerator at Sahlgrenska Science Park and co-founder of the HealthTech Nordic Community.
“We are happy that Sahlgrenska Science Park is represented here at GoCo. We complement each other well and have had a very good collaboration since the beginning. We now look forward to continued cooperation and to the companies at GoCo getting access to Sahlgrenska Science Park’s offering,” says Marie Uddenmyr, Director Corporate Relations at GoCo Health Innovation City.
