Sahlgrenska Science Park is delighted to open the Arvid Carlsson Award 2022 for nominations. This is the 6th consecutive year an entrepreneur within life science will be recognized at the 17th Park Annual event on 30 November.

Innovation and knowledge in conjunction with good entrepreneurship is tributed when Sahlgrenska Science Park is awarding a prize in Nobel laureate Arvid Carlsson’s honour.

Anders Hyltander won the award in 2021 for his achievements with Surgical Science. On 30 November he will hand over the trophy to the new award winner.

Making a nomination is quick and easy.  Just click the link or send an email to arvidcarlssonaward@sahlgrenskasciencepark.se to provide the name of the nominee, contact details and your justification. Nominations are being accepted through 5 October.

What the jury is looking for

The prize is awarded to an entrepreneur who drives development forward for people’s health and welfare.

The ambition is to give recognition and honour to promising and future entrepreneurs in academia, healthcare and industry to stimulate continued learning and networking in the global arena that is life science.

The jury 2022 consists of previous winners of the Arvid Carlsson Award: Héctor Martínez, BICO (CELLINK), Jens Nielsen, BioInnovation Institute, Anna-Carin Olin, PExA AB, Anders Hyltander, Surgical Science, together with: Marianne Dicander Alexandersson, Chairman, Sahlgrenska Science Park, Charlotta Gummeson, CEO, Sahlgrenska Science Park

What does the prize consist of?

In addition to honours and diplomas, the prize consists of a challenge prize as well as participation in an international conference including travel and accommodation. Lessons learned from the conference may be presented afterwards in conjunction with a lecture for entrepreneurs and companies at Sahlgrenska Science Park.

About Arvid Carlsson

Arvid Carlsson was awarded the Nobel Prize in medicine in 2000 for his discoveries concerning neurotransmitters in the nervous system. In addition to a key role in research and medicine, he was also a true entrepreneur, active in Sahlgrenska Science Park’s community for many years.
